True Blood 30 Days Challenge, Day 13 : Something that made you cry.
I just don’t know if there is many episodes that didn’t make me cry, so it’s an endless list. But I always am surprised on how I just cry so much when Arlene comes to Sookie in the end of the first season, so full of guilt over what Rene did, so angry about the fact she never saw anything, and yet so sad about the fact that he is dead. The actress is so great at playing all those conflicted emotions, and when that scene happens, I always think the emotionnal stuff of the episode has ended, and then, there’s Arlene, and I cry like a baby.
True Blood 30 Days Challenge, Day 11 : Your favorite Sookie moment.
I love Sookie. Before I watched the show, I am ashamed to confess that I totally pictured her as a Bella. But she is so great. She manages to be sweet, good, non-judgemental, strong, fun, clever, tender, lovable, badass… Well, actually she’s one of the greatest female leads in a fiction that I’ve ever seen. And Anna Paquin is just the perfect actress for such a character. Anyway, I don’t know how to choose my favorite moment. I like it when she slaps people with her words. I like it when she’s strong for everybody. I like it when she collapses. I like it when she makes choices, good or not, and when she deals with the consequences. Maybe my favorite moment of all is when she decided to not be with Eric nor with Bill in the end of season 4. I mean, she was fantasizing about being with the two, but she made the most painful choice by ending things with both. Most of the times I think love triangles don’t work on long term because it becomes dull, you just don’t understand why someone would stay in such a toxic relationship. And Sookie is a clever, independant, strong woman. And she really loves Eric and Bill, and she knows any choice would be the worst for them three, and she decides to be the strong one, the one that is going to make them leave that bad place they’re all in. (Of course, I guess she’ll have to go back to them at some point in the future but still…).
True Blood 30 Days Challenge, Day 10 : Your favorite Sam/Sookie moment.
The funniest is when she wakes up and finds a naked Sam all curled up in her bed. That’s one of the greatest moments of tv. And how she goes hiding in her bathtub, protect by her loofah is just so funny ! I love that scene because it’s so weird. And I love that moment between Sam and Sookie because it’s when he finally tells her who he is.
True Blood 30 Days Challenge, Day 8 : Your favorite Sookie/Bill moment.
I am not a huge fan of Sookie and Bill. I don’t hate them as a couple, but I just don’t really love them either. Bill is too mainstream, and he also is a kind of liar, who manipulates Sookie into falling in love with him. Anyway, I still love a lot of their moments. My favorite may be when they babysat for Arlene. It was sweet, and the kids were great, and that was just a nice and innocent moment. Felt good.
True Blood 30 Days Challenge, Day 7 : Your favorite Sookie/Eric moment.
Well I love every Sookie/Eric moments. Correction, I love every Eric moments. So it’s tough to choose one. Weirdly, I thought I loved Eric because he was that great bad guy, vicious and violent, and I totally loved him in season 4 with his memory lost and being kinda nice and sweet. At the beginning of the season, I feared I would lost my interest in Eric because of that, and I thought it would just be a kind of re-enactment of Bill and Sookie. And I actually love every moment between Sookie and Eric in that season too.
True Blood 30 Days Challenge, Day 1 : Your favorite female character.
It came as a surprise to me, but it actually is Sookie. Every female character of the show is great, but Sookie is the kind of girl I actually would want to be (without the complicated love life, the blood and all that pain, obviously). It was a surprise, because most of the time I just don’t love the main characters. I would never say Buffy is my favorite character of Btvs, nor that Harry Potter is my favorite of the Potterverse… Well, Mal is more or less my favorite character of Firefly, but it’s a very rare thing to me. And even rarer with female characters, I don’t know why but even where they’re well done, like in any Whedon show for example, they always annoy me, and I always prefer some sidekick instead. And then came Sookie. She’s fun, clever, courageous, strong, she’s got a big heart. She sometimes makes mistakes, like everyone, and that one of the things that make me love her even more. And she does not only exists for her two very powerful lovers, which is not that easy to do when the show is actually built on that love triangle with two very powerful vampires. And Anna Paquin is just one of the greatest actresses there is.
